The Ministry House
We are a refuge for people who have never heard of God, those who want to grow and learn more about their relationship with Him, for people who have moved away from God for some reason, or were hurt or rejected.
We are a place where you only need to come with an open heart. It doesn't matter your past, how you look, what clothes you wear, the tattoos you have, etc. It only matters that you want to get closer to God and let Him do the work in you.
Everyone is welcome, come as you are.
The Story of The Ministry House
It all started with To Boldly Go Missions:
To Boldly Go was born in September of 2020, in the midst of the Covid Pandemic. My husband Jesue and I saw the need and the opportunity to share the gospel and love of Jesus Christ in Tizimin, even when it seemed like every door was shut with the lockdown that lasted more than 6 months. Our mission was, and still is, quality and God will bring the quantity. We wanted to see people saved and set free by Jesus. We started with online bible studies with Facebook, counseling, and English classes in our very first apartment downtown. We changed rental homes several times during the pandemic, but always noticed how God has used each one as “a house of ministry”. After the lockdown started to let up, we started visiting different villages as we were given permission from each village’s sheriff. We would bring groceries, clothing, toys, and most importantly Jesus. We held movie nights, volleyball games, free haircuts, youth conferences, all as tools to bring people to Jesus.
What is the Ministry House?
One weekend while sharing in a conference, God put “The Ministry House” on our hearts, a special building for the ministry and all its activities. A refuge for people who have never heard of God to experience Him, those who want to grow and learn more about their relationship with Him, for people who have moved away from God for some reason, or were hurt or rejected in other places. A place where they only need to come with an open heart. It doesn't matter the past they carry, how they look, what clothes they wear, the tattoos they have, etc. It only matters that they want to get closer to God and let Him do the work in them. Everyone is welcome to come just as they are.
First, we drafted several plans that made our personal house the Ministry House, as with all the rental homes before, but with a large, specific room for ministry. But God told us to plan bigger. So after three different plans we finally came up with the one we are living in now. Our personal house to the left, La Casa Del Padre (The Father’s House, the dedicated building to ministry) to the right, and an open air space connecting the two.
We found a piece of property for sale not long after, but we didn’t have the money for it and a mortgage is not usually a thing here in Tizimin, if you’re lucky the person selling will allow up to three payments. We went by faith to see the land and immediately knew it was it. There was a tiny two room, no bathroom ranch house with the roof collapsed on the left, and an unfinished building with a long bedroom (perfect for a classroom) on the right, with just enough space in between for an open air space for kids to play and conferences to be held when the weather is good.
So we laid hands on the stone wall and placed our feet by faith on the land, declaring despite our financial situation that this would be the Ministry House. Just one year later and countless trips to the property to pray, the owner agree to let us do monthly payments and he gave us all the left over construction material that was left in the house! We started working immediately. Cutting the grass by hand with machetes, chopping down the trees that had grown inside the houses and leveling the dirt floors. The neighbors couldn’t believe that we, the crazy people that came to pray so many times with pastors, friends, family, were now the owners of the house!
We did everything we could to raise money for construction. We raised sheep and sold them, chickens and their eggs, selling handmade donuts and many other small jobs. We know that scripture says in Deuteronomy 30:9 - “The Lord your God will then make you successful in everything you do. He will give you many children and numerous livestock, and he will cause your fields to produce abundant harvests, for the Lord will again delight in being good to you as he was to your ancestors.” Then He moved the hearts of people all across the U.S. and Mexico to help us complete the first house, our personal home. We started working with the kids in the neighborhood and held all the previously mentioned activities in the tiny kitchen or in the front porch. Then God moved again! He sent the exact amount needed to construct the Open Air Space with a roof, lights and fans in March of 2022. In October 2022, only thanks to Jesus, the people whose hearts He laid our ministry on, and a special thank you to Place of Hope in Florida, we finished construction and dedicated La Casa Del Padre (The Father’s House)! In 2023, we extended the Open Air Space to accomodate the people that now congregate with us and in 2024 we started on the back portion of the property that is and will soon be: the front of the auditorium/altar area, kitchen, public bathrooms and a community garden. In 2025, we continue dreaming and working on the property and impacting the community that God has entrusted us with through His abundant grace, and now with two little ones by our sides! This is just the beginning of what God is doing! He is moving and multiplying!
